Support for Young People

'Young people in the UK have higher mental health needs than ever' according to the NHS study 'Mental Health of Children and Young People in England, 2020'.  The study found that '1 in 6 young people in England (aged 5 to 16) experienced a mental health problem in 2020, up from 1 in 9 in 2017.'

Mental Health charity Young Minds states we are experiencing a 'mental Health emergency' with 'three quarters of parents reporting that their child's mental health had deteriorated while waiting for support from statutory services.' Adolescence is a time where young people explore their identity and roles they have in society. We are still learning of the effect the Coronavirus pandemic on young people. Lockdowns, changes in their in education and limited opportunities to have positive interactions within their communities left many young people feeling anxious and isolated.  According to the charity '1 in 3 mental health problems in adulthood are directly connected to an adverse childhood experience'.

Our bespoke sessions work with young people to explore their identity and where they feel they fit into society. Coupled with a broad range of wellbeing activities and learning opportunities, all based in nature, we support young people to develop a true sense of self and purpose.
